Sophia Sarkar: Having Carter as my brother has taught me to be tougher. He likes to hit a lot and I know he does not always mean it on purpose so it teaches me how to be tough, brave, and accepting of others.

Matthew Moon: I protect my brother by teaching other kids about him.

Katie Di Ilio: He gave me patience, understanding, and compassion towards others. He also made me energetic, enthusiastic and excited for life and all of its ups and downs. He prepared me for loss, and how to stay motivated even when facing sadness or frustration. He gave me spunk. He taught me to be true to myself and to be authentic. He taught me to see the ability in disability.

Grey Chapin: My experiences with a terminally ill sister have changed me in many ways. Blair made me more respectful and patient person. Although, I believe that she changed me the most in my maturity and empathy. Because of Blair, I am much more grateful for the opportunities I have. These opportunities include experiences that most kids my age would take for granted, like going to school and playing sports. Blair changed my life and personality for the better in many ways.

Samantha Byers: Will is my favorite person. Because of Will, I know that just because some people can’t talk, doesn’t mean they can’t listen. They are thinking of things in their head but sometimes can’t get their mouth to say it. Although, we still help them try and we listen to them by watching them! That’s an important thing to learn.
